Coverage

The Oriental Insurance company Ltd will, in the event of any of the following occurrences, repair or, at our option, replace your Equipment with a new unit through Sangeetha outlets with same or similar handset if your equipment,

- Fails to operate due to an internal fault or breakdown and is no longer protected by the manufacturers or other party’s warrantee or guarantee.

- Suffers damage to the exterior or interior components as a result of external impact such as dropping the Equipment, or the deliberate action of a third party, and such damage causes Your Equipment to stop working.

- Fails to work because fluid has managed to enter its internal circuitry.

- Stolen from a locked building, room or car to which the thief has gained access by force. In the event of theft from a car, the equipment must have been placed in the locked glove compartment or boot so that it is not visible from outside.

- Fire, lightning and explosion.

- Act of god perils

- Theft by Violent means or threat to use violence

- Damage or theft during Riot strike and malicious act



Exclusions

We will not repair or replace Your Equipment in the following circumstances,

- Damage caused by incorrect storage, poor care and maintenance, careless use, incorrect installation, incorrect set-up and neglect.

- Damage that is covered by Supplier, dealer or factory warranty or by other insurance.

- Loss, for example lost, mysterious disappearance, forgotten or misplaced Equipment and simple theft where forcible entry has not occurred or violence used.

- Damage caused by war, civil unrest and damaged by or in connection with nuclear accidents.

- If Your Equipment is damaged or lost intentionally by You;

- Fails to operate due to a software fault ,or as a result of attack by malicious software;

- If your Equipment is more than 1 year old (from date of purchase).

- If the damage or failure is minor and / or cosmetic in nature, and does not result in total failure of the Equipment to operate.

- Any failure as a result of problems with the network infrastructure, your network subscription or any other cause other than failure or breakage of Your Equipment.

- Any damage, theft or other loss that occurs whilst you are engaging in performing criminal acts, or act of war (including terrorism) or your handset is used with your permission or knowledge of such acts.

- Any consequential costs whatsoever, or any costs incurred by you in making a claim under this policy, including postage, transit costs and reconnection cost.

- Any damage to the equipment while engaging in dangerous/ adventure sports.

Note

- Total claims payable during a year under an invoice will be the sum Insured subject to Excess and depreciation.

- If the repairs costs exceed the Total loss settlement at the time of loss, approval will be for eligible TL settlement as if replaced.

- If at the time of replacement , same model is out of market / not available , it will be replaced by a similar handset of same cost irrespective of Make subject to payment of difference cost after giving credit to claim approved.



Excess & Depreciation

Excess:

The excess shall be 5% of the value of the claim, subject to a minimum of Rs.100/- each and every claim

Depreciation:

0-90 days - Nil

91 to 180 Days - 25%

More than 180 days - 50%



Claims process:

  • All documents pertaining to theft / stolen cases must be submitted to UIB office within 48hrs of the incident.
  • All documents related to water / physical damage should be subimitted within 7 working days or within 48hrs of estimate report given.
  • In case of any claim immediate intimation to be sent to Universal Insurance brokers at Bangalore through Phone 080 41539041 and intimate by mail to Imran Khan through ik@universalinsurance.co.in, gguniversal@gmail.com The claim papers should be submitted to Universal Insurance Brokers Services P Ltd. , 304 , Commerce House, 9/1, Cunningham Road, Bangalore - 560052
  • Do not undertake any repairs until authorised by UIB
  • Follow instructions as advised by UIB
